Australia's selection of Pat Cummins as their next One-Day International captain makes history.

Pat Cummins was chosen the next ODI skipper on Tuesday.

Cummins remarked, "I have learned a huge lot from his guidance and have thoroughly loved playing under Finchy."

Bancroft was given a nine-month ban from playing cricket by Cricket Australia.

Former captain and vice-captain Steve Smith and David Warner were given a 12-month suspension.

"Pat has done a great job since taking up the captaincy of the Test side," said selection chief George Bailey.

Pat has been unanimously chosen by the board and selectors to lead the ODI team until at least the 2023 World Cup.
